Two people, one dog, and five rooms we look after ourselves.
Mara cooks breakfast. Theo keeps the fires lit and knows which trail is quiet this week. Charli meets everyone at the door. We rebuilt this lodge by hand, and we answer every message ourselves.

We meet you at the door, walk you to your room, and point you toward the springs, dinner, or the easiest first walk. The road noise fades faster than you expect.

Day two, 10:15
Soak, walk the canyon, or do almost nothing.
The Parks Canada hot pools sit 3 km up the road under the cliffs of Sinclair Canyon, and Kootenay National Park starts where the pools do. Parks Canada keeps them open through the winter; check the day's hours before you go.
The room is the start. The morning is why you came.
The bed matters. So does the way the place feels when you walk back in from the springs and something is already in the oven.
