Privacy

The short list of what we keep.

A small lodge has no reason to track you around the internet, so this site does not. Here is exactly what it collects, who handles it, and how to ask us about it.

This site carries no advertising trackers and shows no cookie banner, because nothing on it needs your permission before it runs.

What every visit shares

Visit counts

Vercel Web Analytics counts which pages are viewed, the site that sent you, your country, and the kind of device and browser. It works without cookies and without building a profile of you, and we only ever see the totals.

Page speed

Vercel Speed Insights measures how quickly pages load on real devices, so we can fix slow ones. It records timings, not who you are, and it sets no cookies.

Server logs

Vercel, the company that hosts this site, keeps standard request logs (the address your request came from, the time and the page) to run the service and keep it secure. They follow Vercel's own retention rules.

Settings on your device

If you pause the video on the home page, your browser remembers that choice so it stays paused next time, and a booking request in progress is kept in the tab until you send it. Neither leaves your device.

What happens only when you choose it

When you email or call

We receive what you send and use it to answer you and plan your stay. We keep booking correspondence for as long as we need it for the stay and our records, and you can ask us to delete it.

When you request a booking

The booking form keeps what you type in this browser tab only, so a refresh does not lose it, and clears it when you send. Nothing is charged online: we confirm by email and you pay on arrival. Cedar & Stone is a concept, so on this site the request is not sent anywhere.

When you open the map

The map on the contact page comes from Google, so it stays switched off until you press Show the map here. From that moment Google's own privacy policy applies to the map.

When you join the lodge notes

Joining opens an email to us, and we add you to the list by hand. Every note tells you how to leave, and one reply takes you off.

When you follow a social link

Instagram, Facebook and YouTube are other companies' sites. What happens there is covered by their policies, not this one.

Your information stays yours.

We use what you send us to look after your stay, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, trade it or hand it to marketers.

Canadian privacy law, including British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, lets you ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email us and we will answer within 30 days, usually much sooner.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
